Team Records The Team Records have now been revised so that they reflect the correct age group of the swimmer when the record was set.  In YMCA swimming rules, a swimmer's age is based on the age he or she is on December 1 of that year.  In USA Swimming rules, a swimmer's age is based on the age he or she is on the first day of that particular meet.  In the past, we were using the swimmer's age based on the YMCA rules.  In some cases, if a record was broken at a Y meet, a swimmer could be three months older than the actual age of the record.  Therefore, we now have two sets of records.  One is YMCA Records based on the YMCA rules for a swimmer's age and are listed by class.  The other is USA Swimming Records based on age by the US rules.  This serves as a truer representation and at the same time preserves the history of the team much more accurately.
