TEAM EVENTS YMCA REACH OUT FOR YOUTH CAMPAIGN February 14, 2008 I would like to thank all the swimmers and parents who put so much time and effort into making our hosting of districts a success. This was a major undertaking and required a huge effort and commitment from our team and we did a great job. The league officials, other team coaches and their parents all complemented us on how well the meet was run. Barbara Damon said hosting this meet next year would be so much easier now that we have done it and have our blueprint. Not to worry though, we aren’t going to do this again for a while. When the new pool in Foxboro is complete, I would like to host a meet there but only for one weekend. It is a great way to make money for the team and hosting our own meet would mean no sharing the profits with the league. We now have had two major fundraising events and have been able to donate enough money to have an electronic timing system and displays installed in the new pool. This will make our meets run more smoothly and hopefully attract new swimmers to our program. The last fundraising event the team needs to support is our contribution to the Hockomock YMCA’s Reach Out for Youth and Families campaign. Please see the attached documentation for an explanation of this campaign and its impact on our communities. Each year the swim team is counted on to raise our goal towards this worthwhile campaign. This year our goal is $2,000.00. I am going to post information on this program on our website and also have a donation form available to download. Some of you who have given in the past will receive information via mail. When you make your gift, please note on the form that your donation is from a Swim Team family or from Chuck Cronin’s team. This way we get credit for the donation towards our goal. Thanks for your past effort and here’s to a successful campaign. The copies are available for $5.00 per slideshow and will play on your pc using DVD software or Windows Media Player. They should also play on most DVD players. Ordering Details: 1.
