MEET FORMAT: The meet will be swum as = trials/finals=20 for 13 & over (with the exception of Friday night events -50 Free, = 400 IM=20 and 800 Free-which will be timed finals) and timed finals for 12 and = under=20 sessions. There will be a final and a consolation heat during finals, = top 12=20 swimmers will return for the evening session. Each session will be = seeded by=20 computer based on positive check-in at the beginning of each = session. Coaches will receive a = positive check-in=20 sheet before each session, which must be returned no later than 30 = minutes=20 before the beginning of the session. =20 Heat sheets will be posted around the pool deck. Coaches will be able to pick = up heat=20 sheets for each event at the timing table. =20 The 800m freestyle will be swum fast-to-slow, alternating heats = of women=20 and men, two swimmers per lane, staggered starts 30 seconds apart. = Swimmers in=20 the 800m freestyle must provide their own counter and timer.

SITE: The Sterling YMCA Pool is a 6-lane, = 50-meter=20 pool with seven-foot-wide lanes and non-turbulent lane lines. Fully automatic Colorado Time = Systems=20 electronic timing with touch pads at the finish end of the pool with = electronic=20 display. There are touch = pads at=20 the turn end of the pool. = Attached=20 to the main pool is a warm-up/warm-down area that is approximately 42x20 = feet in=20 size. The start end of = the pool is=20 5 feet deep. Spectator = seating for=20 300. The pool is located = inside the=20 Sterling YMCA, 254 = Essex=20 Street, Beverly, = MA 01915. ELIGIBILITY: All contestants must be 2008 = USA Swimming=20 registered athletes. All swimmers must be registered = before the=20 entry is submitted. Teams = that=20 enter unregistered swimmers will be subject to a fine of $100 per = unregistered=20 swimmer. New England teams entering the meet are required = to check=20 their entries with the online registration check tool on the New England = Swimming web site. Please = contact=20 the New England Swimming Office for registration information. Disabled = swimmer=20 forms are available from the New England Swimming Office. ENTRY INFORMATION: YNS Swim Team will = reserve 75%=20 for its own team and any other teams (New=20 England and/or out of district) that it may want to invite = to the=20 meet. In order to make sure that the meet is not either = oversubscribed=20 or undersubscribed, all teams included in the 75% must submit their = entry and=20 check at least one week before the date of first acceptance. The = other 25%=20 of the swims will be open to other teams to submit entries. If on = the=20 first day of acceptance, those meet entries exceed the 25% still = available in=20 the meet, there will be a lottery of those teams. Entries will be accepted on and = after=20 May 18, = 2008. Entries received before = May 18, 2008 = will be=20 considered received on May=20 18, 2008. = Entries must=20 be received no later than June 17, 2008. =20 Make checks payable to =93YNS Swim Team=94. Mail completed forms = (including signed=20 entry cover page and waiver) and payment to the entry chairperson:=20 John Brennan 23 Roderick = Street,=20 Beverly, MA=20 01915. All entries must = be typed or=20 printed legibly, and must use full names and registration numbers from = USA=20 Swimming registration. = All entries=20 must include a completed and signed entry cover sheet and waiver. No deck entries will be = accepted. No refunds will be given for = entries=20 that are accepted, or for entries that are rejected due to improper = entry. Any swimmer who is entered with = incorrect=20 swimmer information, or an incorrect or no ID, or is unregistered, will = be=20 scratched from the meet until corrections are made per the New England policy.

ELECTRONIC ENTRIES: Electronic entries (such = as from=20 Hy-Tek Team Manager or other team management software) that are in. L2 = or=20 SD3/SDIF format may be emailed as an attachment to the entry chairperson = at JohnBrennan@comcast.net. Please check that your team = name,=20 address, and contact information are listed correctly in this file. For email entries, payment and = hardcopy=20 of the entry (including signed entry cover page and waiver) must be = received=20 within four (4) days, excluding Sundays and holidays, of receipt of the = email=20 entry. If payment is = received=20 within four (4) days, excluding Sundays and holidays, of the email = entry, the=20 email receipt date will be considered the date of entry. If payment is received more = than four=20 (4) days, excluding Sundays and holidays, after the email entry, the = payment=20 receipt date will be considered the date of entry. Please indicate the = package=20 can be delivered without a signature.

ENTRY LIMITS: Athletes 12 and under may = enter and swim=20 in a maximum of 5 events per day. Swimmers 13 and older can swim 3 = events per=20 day.

ENTRY TIME UPATES: Entry times may be = updated through=20 Monday, June = 23,=20 2008 at 4:00=20 pm. No new = entries will=20 be accepted after the June=20 17, 2008 entry deadline. =20 Entry time updates should be sent via email to the entry = chairperson at=20 JohnBrennan@comcast.net. Entry time updates must be sent = as Hy-Tek=20 format CL2 files with updated times. =20 (New entries will be automatically excluded.)

ENTRY=20 FEES: Trials/Finals: Electronic entries: $5.00 for individual = events. Non-electronic = entries:=20 $5.50 for individual

events.=20 Timed/Finals: Electronic entries: $4.00 for individual = events. Non-electronic entries: $4.50 = for=20 individual events.

The Swimmer=20 Participation Fee is $2.00 per swimmer

ENTRY TIMES: All entries must be specified = in long=20 course meter (50-meter pool) times. =20 Yard times must be converted to meter times. Entries with =93NO = TIME=94 will=20 be rejected.

ENTRY CUTS: Entry cuts, if necessary, will = be made by=20 the date of receipt. = Teams will be=20 notified that they have been accepted or cut from the meet within seven = days of=20 receipt of entry. If the = meet=20 becomes oversubscribed, a random selection of those entries received on = the date=20 the meet becomes oversubscribed will be conducted in accordance with New = England=20 Swimming guidelines. = Teams that are=20 cut from the meet will have their entry fee returned within four days of = being=20 cut.

HEAT SHEETS: $2.00 per session.

ADMISSION: $1.00 per session.

WARMUPS: The pool will open for warm-ups one = hour=20 before the beginning of each session. =20 The pool will close five minutes before the beginning of each=20 session. Teams will be = assigned=20 warm-up lanes after all entries are received. The warm-up/warm-down area = will be=20 available during the meet.

SAFETY:

Diving will = be=20 prohibited during warm-ups except in specifically announced one-way = sprint=20 lanes. There will be no = diving in=20 the warm up and warm down areas at any time=20
No=20 shaving is permitted at the competition site.=20
No=20 glass containers are permitted within the facility.=20
Swimmers must = be under=20 the supervision of a coach. = If a=20 swimmer arrives at the meet without a coach, the swimmer should notify = the=20 referee before he/she warms up. =20 The referee will assign the swimmer to a registered coach for = warm-ups.=20
No=20 camera cell phones are permitted in the locker rooms.=20
No=20 swimmer is allowed to use the adult locker rooms, fitness areas or = other areas=20 of the YMCA not specified for the use of swimmers. Any swimmer found = using=20 adult locker rooms or areas not designated for use during the meet = will be=20 removed for the remainder of the meet.=20
No=20 ball, Frisbees or other propulsion devices are allowed in the gym. =

RULES: 2008 USA Swimming rules will govern = all=20 competition. Decisions by = the meet=20 referee will be final unless a written protest is lodged within 30 = minutes of=20 the heat swum.

TIME TRIALS: Time trials will be offered at = the=20 discretion of the meet referee if time allows. Time trials are $5.00 for = individual=20 events.

DECK ACCESS: Only athletes, coaches, = officials, and=20 official meet staff are permitted on the pool deck. All non-athletes on the pool = deck must=20 display their USA Swimming registration card at all times. Individuals without their USA = Swimming=20 registration card will be removed from the pool deck, and will be = subject to a=20 fine by New England Swimming. Please be advised the YMCA of the = North = Shore has a policy prohibiting = street=20 shoes from being worn on the pool deck.

SCORING: The meet will not be scored.

AWARDS: Awards will be given to the top six = finishers=20 in each individual event. Heat prizes will be awarded to first place 10 = and=20 under swimmers in each heat.

FOOD: A concession stand (located in the = gymnasium)=20 will be in operation for the duration of the meet

EQUIPMENT VENDOR: A swimming equipment = vendor will be=20 selling suits, goggles, and other accessories for the duration of the = meet.

MISCELLANEOUS: YMCA of the North = Shore assumes no responsibility = for lost=20 or stolen property. Pets = of any=20 kind and smoking are not permitted within the facility. The Sterling = Center YMCA=20 is open to YMCA members during the meet.

PARKING: There will be off-site parking = available with=20 a shuttle service running constantly to and from sites. Swimmers may be dropped off at = the=20 entrance to the Sterling but all cars will be = directed=20 to the nearby offsite lots. =20 Directions to off site lots will be available at the entrance to = the=20 Sterling YMCA. =20
