MEET FORMAT: The meet will be swum as=20 timed-finals. Each = session will be=20 seeded by computer based on positive check-in at the beginning of each=20 session. Coaches will = receive a=20 positive check-in sheet before each session, which must be returned no = later=20 than 30 minutes before the beginning of the session. Heat sheets will be posted = around the=20 pool deck. Coaches will = be able to=20 pick up heat sheets for each event at the control office. The 1650 freestyle will be = swum=20 fast-to-slow, alternating heats of women and men.

SITE: The Massachusetts Maritime Academy = (MMA),=20 Buzzards Bay, MA=20 is located on Cape Cod. The = pool is a 6=20 lane, 25 yard course with Keifer = non-turbulent lane=20 lines including buffer zones and lane lines on outside lanes. = Starting=20 blocks are at the deep end. Colorado Timing with electronic = scoreboard and=20 touchpads. Seating = for=20 300. The pool is located along the scenic Cape=20 Cod Canal, one of Bourne=92s major recreational = attractions. =20 Fishermen, boaters, joggers, bicyclists and walkers all use the canal = for=20 recreation. In addition, we are only =BC mile from a marina and = public boat=20 launching facility and about one mile from Bourne Scenic=20 Park and = Campground. =20 The campground is open April through October.

COURSE: Short course yards (25 yards).

ELIGIBILITY: All contestants must be 2008 = USA Swimming=20 registered athletes. All swimmers must be registered = before the=20 entry is submitted. Teams = that=20 enter unregistered swimmers will be subject to a fine of $100 per = unregistered=20 swimmer. New England teams entering the meet are = encouraged to=20 check their entries with the online registration check tool on the New = England=20 Swimming web site. Please = contact=20 the New England Swimming Office for registration information. Disabled = swimmer=20 forms are available from the New England Swimming Office. ENTRY INFORMATION: Entries will be accepted = on and=20 after April = 14,=20 2008. Entries = received=20 before April = 14,=20 2008 will be considered received on April 14, 2008. Make checks payable to = =93Cape Cod Swim=20 Club=94. Mail = completed forms=20 (including signed entry cover page and waiver) and payment to the entry=20 chairperson: Alan Sanders PO Box = 623=20 Buzzards Bay MA 02532. = All=20 entries must be typed or printed legibly, and must use full names and=20 registration numbers from USA Swimming registration. All entries must include a = completed and=20 signed entry cover sheet and waiver. =20 No deck entries will be accepted. =20 No refunds will be given for entries that are accepted, or for = entries=20 that are rejected due to improper entry. =20 Any swimmer who is = entered with=20 incorrect swimmer information, or an incorrect or no ID, or is = unregistered,=20 will be scratched from the meet until corrections are made per the = New England policy. The = Cape=20 Cod Swim Club will = reserve=20 75% for its own team and any other teams (New=20 England and/or out of district) that it may want to invite = to the=20 meet. The other 25% of the swims will be open to other teams to = submit=20 entries. If on the first day of acceptance, those meet entries = exceeded=20 the 25% still available in the meet, there would be a lottery of those=20 teams. The lottery would be run by the New=20 England Office

ELECTRONIC ENTRIES: Electronic entries (such = as from=20 Hy-Tek Team Manager or other team management = software)=20 that are in CL2 or SD3/SDIF format may be emailed as an attachment to = the entry=20 chairman at swimmeets@capecodswimclub.c= om. Please check that your team = name,=20 address, and contact information are listed correctly in this file. For email entries, payment and = hardcopy=20 of the entry (including signed entry cover page and waiver) must be = received=20 within four (4) days, excluding Sundays and holidays, of receipt of the = email=20 entry. If payment is = received=20 within four (4) days, excluding Sundays and holidays, of the email = entry, the=20 email receipt date will be considered the date of entry. If payment is received more = than four=20 (4) days, excluding Sundays and holidays, after the email entry, the = payment=20 receipt date will be considered the date of entry.

ENTRY LIMITS: Athletes may enter and swim in = a maximum=20 of 5 events per day.

ENTRY TIME UPATES: Entry times may be = updated until 7=20 days prior to the first day of the meet. Entry time updates should be = sent via=20 email to the entry chairman at swimmeets@capecodswimclub.c= om.=20 Entry time updates must be sent as Hy-Tek = format CL2=20 or SD3/SDIF files with updated times.

ENTRY FEES: Electronic entries: $4.00 for = individual=20 events, $5.00 for distance events (400 yards and over). Non-electronic = entries:=20 $4.50 for individual events, $5.50 for distance events. The Swimmer=20 Participation Fee is $5.00 per swimmer. =20

ENTRY TIMES: All entries must be specified = in=20 short-course yard (25-yard pool) times. =20 Meter times must be converted to yard times. (Entries with =93NO = TIME=94 will=20 be accepted.)

ENTRY CUTS: Entry cuts, if necessary, will = be made by=20 the date of receipt. = Teams will be=20 notified that they have been accepted or cut from the meet within seven = days of=20 receipt of entry. If the = meet=20 becomes oversubscribed, a random selection of those entries received on = the date=20 the meet becomes oversubscribed will be conducted in accordance with New = England=20 Swimming guidelines. = Teams that are=20 cut from the meet will have their entry fee returned within four days of = being=20 cut.

RELAYS: None

25-YARD EVENTS: 25-yard events will start at = the turn=20 end of the pool. There = are no=20 starting blocks at the turn end of the pool. Swimmers will dive in from the = wall.

PROGRAMS: $6.00 per meet

ADMISSION: $1.00 per session.

WARMUPS: The pool will open for warm-ups = one-hour=20 before the beginning of each session. The pool will close five = minutes=20 before the beginning of each session. Teams will be assigned = warm-up lanes=20 after all entries are received. SPECIAL NOTE FOR FRIDAY EVENING = SESSION =96=20 Warm-up for 500 Freestyle commences at 4:30 pm and will last 30 minutes. Check = in for=20 Open 1650 Freestyle will be at 5:30=20 pm. Warm-up will commence at the conclusion of the 500 = Freestyle and=20 will last 30 minutes. = .

SAFETY:

Diving will = be=20 prohibited during warm-ups except in specifically announced one-way = sprint=20 lanes. There will be no = diving in=20 the warmup and warmdown=20 areas at any time=20
No=20 shaving is permitted at the competition site.=20
No=20 glass containers are permitted within the facility.=20
Swimmers must = be under=20 the supervision of a coach. = If a=20 swimmer arrives at the meet without a coach, the swimmer should notify = the=20 referee before he/she warms up. =20 The referee will assign the swimmer to a registered coach for = warm-ups.=20
No=20 camera cell phones are permitted in the locker rooms.

RULES: 2008 USA Swimming rules will govern = all=20 competition. Decisions by = the meet=20 referee will be final unless a written protest is lodged within 30 = minutes of=20 the heat swum.

TIME TRIALS: Time trials will be offered at = the=20 discretion of the meet referee if time allows. Time trials are $5.00 for = individual=20 events and $10.00 for relays.

DECK ACCESS: Only athletes, coaches, = officials, and=20 official meet staff are permitted on the pool deck. All non-athletes on the pool = deck must=20 display their USA Swimming registration card at all times. Individuals = without=20 their USA Swimming registration card will be removed from the pool deck, = and=20 will be subject to a fine by New England Swimming.

SCORING: The meet will not be scored.

AWARDS: Ribbons will be awarded to the top = six=20 finishers in each individual event, and top sixteen finishers in 8 & = Under=20 events..

FOOD: A concession stand will be in = operation on=20 Saturday and Sunday.

EQUIPMENT VENDOR: A swimming equipment = vendor will be=20 selling suits, goggles, and other accessories on Saturday and = Sunday.

MISCELLANEOUS: Cape=20 Cod Swim Club assumes no responsibility for lost or stolen=20 property. Pets of any = kind and=20 smoking are not permitted within the facility.

PARKING: There is ample parking available in = the=20 parking lot adjacent to the Mass. Maritime Swimming Pool.

From = Cape Cod =96 If=20 crossing the Sagamore Bridge, proceed on Rte 6 West towards = Buzzards Bay. If crossing the Bourne = Bridge take the first exit. = Directions=20 continue below.

Continue:=20 On the rotary, go past the CVS and follow the MMA and Main = Street signs.=20 Once on Main=20 Street in Buzzards=20 Bay take a left after 1 mile at the only set of lights onto=20 Academy=20 Drive.
